I'm an artist dedicated to my craft.
Always doing my ultimate best to move things forward and juggle many many aspects of a very complex endeavor.
I started off with nothing but borrowed tools, $20 and a mission. Now I own my own tools, but still have a long way to go.
Many sacrifices have been made to make my dreams a reality including living without "normal' things like running water.
A little glimpse of the workspace.. The tarps are covering a utility trailer that currently holds the majority of the shop. I have a little folding table that I work off of and can easily be collapsed. I happen to be parked in a flood plane currently so when it rains it becomes a rushing river!
I have fun
This may look tough but it's a long way up from where it all began, I've made a ton of progress in the past few years despite the zillions of obstacles/steps along the way.
For most of Lotus Drum's existence, all work has been done away from the grid in odd locations due to the noise involved and other factors. I've worked through freezing winters and scorching summers and hope that this year, 2015, I'll finally be able to move into a dedicated work location where I can also bathe and cook like a normal human being. It's fun, believe me. I like it this way though it's not without it's difficulties. This may be the reason I love it so much, I love challenges.
I work out of my little outdoor workspace in Austin, TX. The majority of my drums are made on a per-order basis.
I do my best to complete every order on a timely basis weather permitting.
